About Me

Amber Wendland, AICP is an urban, collegiate, and neighborhood planner and designer at Ayers Saint Gross. Trained as both an architect and community planner, Amber works on projects that bridge across disciplines from feasibility studies for the Smithsonian to campus master plans for Purdue University to neighborhood vision plans for East Baltimore. Amber is particularly passionate for planning and design in challenging urban environments. Presented with the opportunity to lead a community vision and master plan for one of the most disinvested neighborhoods in East Baltimore, Amber strove to implement a community-led vision by educating and involving residents throughout the planning process. Her dedication to improving troubled urban areas through both the built environment and education of local residents has helped shed light on parts of East Baltimore that are often overlooked.
